Psilocybin has been shown to improve symptoms of depression , anxiety , and major depressive disorder. Many physicians, advanced practice practitioners, and nurses experienced depression, burnout , and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) during the COVID-19 pandemic. A recent study has examined whether psilocybin could improve symptoms of depression, burnout, and PTSD in 30 clinicians who developed these conditions while providing frontline care during the pandemic.
