Almost everyone is using a mobile phone and it is very difficult to say user to keep it outside before entering certain places including OTs and ICUs. Few studies have pointed out its role in spreading nosocomial infection. However, carrying of infected phone sets should not be allowed in highly sterilized places.

My queries are as follows: How to know about infected phone sets? Can mobile phone spread nosocomial infection? Is it practicable not to allow mobile phones in OTs and ICUs?
