Case presentation A general practitioner referred a 23-year-old male football player to an outpatient clinic with complaints of the right groin, although he had no relevant medical history. The patient had experienced sudden excruciating pain in the right groin twice after kicking the ball, following strenuous training a year ago.

He had swelling and soreness in the right adductor region after exercise.
