A 3-year 4-month-old Indian child staying in UAE with a history of high fever between 38 to 39 degree from the last 8 days. Fever spikes every 4-6 hrs and child is very normal in between fever spikes. No history of cough, cold, rashes, joint pain, loose motion, vomiting or headache. No history of travel in last 6 months/no history of contact with sick person or pets.
Well immunized for the age. Physical examination is normal Day 3CBC urine routine and culture normal but CRP 48 started with ceftriaxone Day 7CRP 173 ESR 61 other investigations CBC Peripheral smear Ferritin electrolytes urea creatinine blood sugar liver function test monospot test mycoplasma widal malaria influenza Usg abdomen urine and Blood culture all negative.... Day7 CRP149 What next should be done? What could be the cause of fever?
