A female patient aged 21 years, c/o unilateral nasal obstruction for last 5 years. On examination, the septum deviates caudally and it is almost obstructing the left nasal cavity. The patient was posted for surgery.
Septoplasty was done externally by the transcellular approach. Intra-operatively the deviated portion of the septum is removed, the collumelar pocket is created and a piece of cartilage is then placed in the pocket and sutured with 3.0 vicryl. Postoperative period was uneventful and the patient is doing fine.
