Recently, a case of medical negligence that rendered a seven-month-old healthy baby disabled resulted in social media uproar. The child’s parents alleged that an injection administered by an intern-nurse at the hospital has rendered their two-year-old boy bed-ridden and speech-impaired. In November 2016, the boy was suffering from cough, wheezing and respiratory trouble and was admitted multiple times at a hospital in Dasarahalli. The boy was shifted to the ICU of a hospital in Goraguntepalya, where a nurse allegedly injected adrenaline instead of administering it with a nebulizer.
After this incidence, the nurse was reportedly asked to sign a letter taking full responsibility for the incident and asked to leave the hospital. Supposing that such mistakes take place from your staff in your hospital, how do you handle such situations? Source: Times Of India
