Graduate medical education regulations (GMER) have not been revised since its amendment in 1997. In this regard, recently, the Delhi High Court had approached Centre and MCI, over the deployment of regulations. According to the petitioner, implementation of GMER has been delaying for years and this has led to outdated practices and study materials.
The chief justice has sought both the bodies to file their responses within four weeks and list the matter before the next hearing on May 3. While, previously, the petitioner approached the MCI, but the information regarding the same was said to be pending for approval. Source- Business Standard
