Latest evidence-backed data spanning the last six years has confirmed yet again that oral cancer in men and cervical cancer in women are the two most common forms of the disease affecting patients in States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The two types of cancer affected over 50% of the 10,000 patients, a study has revealed. The patients included 3,645 head and neck cancer patients (read as oral cancer seen mostly in men aged 30 to 40) and 1,722 women with cervical cancer.

Though the data released pertains to only 10,000 patients treated with 'targeted rapid arc radiotherapy' technique and excludes those who took recourse to chemotherapy or surgical treatment, city experts say the findings stand true for the two states.
