The Gujarat health department has intensified surveillance and containment activities after reporting three pediatric deaths and six confirmed Chandipura virus cases during the ongoing monsoon season. Health department sources said a three-year-old girl from Sabarkantha died at a government hospital on Friday, with her sample sent for laboratory confirmation as a suspected fourth fatality. On Saturday, two children aged one and four years from Kheda were shifted to Gandhinagar Civil Hospital after developing suspected symptoms.

Their laboratory reports are currently pending.
