The Chhattisgarh High Court has quashed criminal proceedings against a doctor who was accused of failing to report a pregnant minor's case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act , holding that merely performing a diagnostic ultrasound examination does not, by itself, attract criminal liability under the Act. The case arose from the alleged sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl who later became pregnant. During her medical evaluation, she underwent an ultrasound examination performed by the doctor as part of routine professional duties.
