Relatives of Nirmal Singh, 50, who died at a private hospital on Monday, took to the streets accusing doctor of negligence. Nirmal Singh was admitted to the hospital on June 26 with multiple injuries suffered in an accident. But he succumbed to his injuries on Friday, relatives along with others blocked Model Town road twice on Friday night causing heavy traffic jam. The protesters even damaged glasses and other property of the hospital following which 16 people were booked under section 307, 384, 511, 353, 186, 427, 506, 148, 149, and 283 of the IPC at Model town police station.
Heavy police force was deployed near the hospital. Kulveer Singh, son of Nirmal Singh, said, "My father died of negligence of the hospital and we will not sit quiet till the hospital apologizes and gives compensation."
