A simple plastic surgery of the middle finger proved to be life-threatening for a five-year-old boy from Bengaluru. The child slipped into coma in the course of the operation following a lung puncture. The boy had injured the ring and middle fingers of his left hand at school on June 10, after which his parents had admitted him to a nearby hospital. They were told that as the ring finger could not be saved, a plastic surgery needs to be carried out to save his middle finger. The boy’s father further says, “We were told that the surgery would take 10-15 minutes.

But we had no news of him for the next two hours.
