In paediatric age group children from birth to 5 to 8 years having ophthalmic problems like Cong glaucoma Cong corneal dystrophy Trisomy 21 Any cong ocular problems Infantile squints are op or other conf or acquired ocular problems EUA is very important. It is not possible for an ophthalmologist to evaluate a child for excluding any ophthalmic problems. One has to dilate the pupils by putting mydriatic drops 3 times a day for 3 days take the option of an anesthsiologist to sedate the child and then do the ant segment examination measuring IOP or corneal measurements refraction and fundus examination.
One should never do an ophthalmic evaluation in children not cooperative without sedation. Share your opinion.
