A team of surgeons at the Dubai Hospital performed a 4-hour long complex surgery to successfully remove a tumor from a patient in his 60s with larynx cancer. The cancerous tumor in the larynx caused difficulties in breathing and swallowing for the patient. The tumor was so aggressive that the doctors had to remove the entire larynx, parts of the pharynx, and sections of the thyroid glands and neck muscles.
Following surgery, the patient was advised to undergo radiation sessions along with periodic check-ups for the next 5-years to ensure complete cancer remission. Source: Gulf News
