Autism is often difficult to diagnose. Its similarity to various other disorders may often lead to over or under-diagnosis. Various guidelines have been formulated to overcome the challenges in diagnosing autism spectrum disorders (ASD). The following article summarizes key recommendations from the clinical practice guidelines for autism spectrum disorders, 2019. Given the complexity of autism, the medical fraternity has not yet reached a definite management strategy for autism disorders.
