Highlights Misoprostol stimulates uterine smooth muscle contraction and cervical ripening, thus helping in the completion of abortion in case of a missed abortion. We’ve summarized a study that aimed to compare the impact of three different routes of administration of misoprostol (oral, sublingual, and vaginal) on the induction of medical abortion in the first trimester of pregnancy.
