With the increasing prevalence, diabetes is gaining the potential epidemic status in India. Around 8.3% of men and 7% of women are suffering from diabetes in India. Moreover, approximately 90% of pregnant women affect with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Owing to the association of GDM with both maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality, screening and managing of women at appropriate gestational age is important to lessen the adverse outcomes.
