This story is not about the wrong injection, its about the correct injection which was given in a wrong way. The patient was diagnosed to have simple malaria, and was started on injection of alpha beta arteether intra muscular once every day. The orders were misinterpreted by the nurse, and injection of alpha beta arteether was given as IV (intravenous). As a scared clinicians, i started to search on internet regarding any consequences, that might arise due to this wrong way of injecting of oily thick injection intravenously.

But no data was found. Those few hours were very scary for me, as i was unaware of any consequences and i had to manage the patient at my simple general hospital with limited resources and small medical team.
