Mucormycosis is an  angio-invasive fungal infection  caused by  mucormycetes  infecting  the air sinuses, brain, and lungs. It can be life-threatening in  severely immunocompromised  patients. Several reports suggest that the  oral and craniofacial  region is highly susceptible to mucormycosis infection. Therefore, dentists must be vigilant to identify the early signs of mucormycosis infection and initiate the appropriate management strategies for achieving successful clinical outcomes.
