These days Orthopedics has become very advanced with many sub specialised fields within orthopedics like arthroplasty, spine, paediatric, oncology, hand, sports medicine etc. Many are jack of all trades and few are masters of one.It is easy in fields like medicine and surgery where there are clear super speciality degrees like DM and MCh to label oneself as an expert.But in orthopedics these degrees are not there or yet not have become mainstream. In such a scenario who can call himself an arthroplasty or spine surgeon for example?
What are the criteria or guidelines?
