HIV patients are not treated properly in both Government and Private hospitals in India. Most Private hospitals do not admit them at all and treat in OPD too as saying that there is no facility for such treatment as expert is lacking but it is a simple trick to send these patients to Government sector as most doctors and staff do not want to take any risk of getting them infected by treating them or does not take risk of infecting their other patients by admitting such patients, all these are false beliefs of Doctors and staff which should be removed.
Insurance companies are very harsh to include these patients under their umbrella coverage, which our Government should reverse. Even in government hospital until tertiary care hospital or media scrutiny most hospitals try to refer them to other big hospitals or delay or refuse their treatment due to same fear,even in tertiary care…
