COVID-19 vaccine-induced thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT) is critical concerning organ donation. There exists an ethical dilemma about using or discarding organs from potential donors. The following recommendations from the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO) are intended to aid the appropriate decision-making of screening cases with VITT. Organs from any individual reporting thrombotic events up to four weeks post adenoviral vector-based immunization must be investigated, and the vital organs should be checked completely by the Organ Procurement Organization’s (OPO) team.
