A woman died and around ten complained of uneasiness and breathlessness, suspectedly due to drug reaction, during a laparoscopic tubectomy camp held at the government Primary Health Centre in Gudekote of Kudligi taluk, Ballari district on Friday. District Health Officer, told newspapers that around 25 women were chosen after screening for receiving laparoscopic tubectomy at a camp. They were administered with pre-operative medicine, including Atropine.
When the surgeon was at the fag end of performing the fourth sterlisation, one woman , who was the third to undergo an operation, complained of sweating and breathlessness. The surgeon immediately attended to her and rushed her to VIMS hospital, and she reportedly started recovering after medical attention.
