A 38-year-old right-hand dominant woman working as a cook at a restaurant. Her right hand was caught in a noodle maker. Isolated injury to the right upper extremity was observed after the physical examination. The presence of a small open wound on the dorsoulnar aspect of the right hand with no soft tissue loss and viable tissues around the open injury was observed. PMH was non-significant with up-to-date Tetanus status.
Radiographs are showing, a spiral fracture of the long finger metacarpal, a comminuted fracture of the ring finger metacarpal with the marked bone loss, and a comminuted fracture of the small finger metacarpal, all on the right side. What could be the definitive management? Should these fractures been treated acutely with bone graft? Should a plate have been used on the small finger metacarpal? *This case is from Docplexus Editorial Team for educative purpose only
