A bench of Chief Justice Rajendra Menon and Justice V K Rao of the Delhi High Court issued a notice to the Centre and the Medical Council of India (MCI) on a plea claiming that there is a delay in implementing the revised graduate medical education regulation. According to a report by the Rajya Sabha- led Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare published in March 2016 which provided an innate detail about the rot that had set into medical education in India under the tutelage of Medical Council of India (MCI). It went on to alarm the government to bring about a deliberate change in the way medical education is regulated.
