74 yo male presenting with vertigo, anorexia, severe weakness.No h/o DM or Hypertension, non alcoholic and non smoker. CBC showes Hb 4.2 And pancytopenia His RDW was 27 % , PCV 12.20 % RBC 1.35 mill/cu.mm BT was done with 3 units of pc Follow up investigation shows marked improvement except RDW. in next Follow up hb was 8 and rest was at normal values but, RDW was 29% This is twice raised then normal values. Some recent studies shows that RDW lavels plays significant role in pt. With Clinical Depression.
on the other hand pt. Improves spontaneously and feels good too. but his RDW isn't settling. Any suggestions?
