Highlights Migraine is one of the leading causes of disability; however, many patients continue to experience substantial pain despite taking multiple drugs. The absence of effective treatment is due to a lack of understanding of the underlying mechanisms. This study determines whether dietary interventions in the form of n-fatty acids with and without a reduction in n-6 linoleic acid can alter circulating lipid mediators involved in headache pathogenesis.
These fatty acids serving as precursors for several bioactive lipid mediators that regulate pain can help reduce the frequency and severity of headaches.
