What is the DASH diet? DASH diet helps reduce blood pressure by consuming foods rich in calcium, potassium, magnesium, protein, and fiber and low in total fat, saturated fat, sodium, and cholesterol. It includes low-fat or fat-free dairy products, whole grains, poultry, fish, fruits, vegetables, and nuts. Sweets, sweetened beverages, tropical oils (coconut and palm), full-fat dairy products, and fatty meats are restricted in the DASH diet.
Aim of the study The study was designed to find whether dietary education provided by in-store dietitians improves healthy dietary habits , BP, BMI, non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, total cholesterol, and triglycerides in individuals with at least one cardiovascular risk factor, including obesity, hypertension, and hyperlipidemias.
