Lately, it is being increasingly seen that state MCI(s) are getting proactive in monitoring the conduct of doctors. Some are calling the doctors for purpose of scrutiny for alleged nexus with pharma sector by accepting hospitality at conference . Some state MCI have even started monitoring faculty in medical colleges and blaming doctors for being ghost faculty.
Some state MCI have been forcing centrally or other state registered doctors to re-register which central MCI terms illegal, to increase their corpus. Whatever be the merit of the case, the question is what is the difference in powers of central MCI versus the state MCI?
