Hi , Have been reading the numerous comments recently on the two blogs regarding advicing the child whether to become a medical professional . I have no child but a cousin whom i like very much and the advice i gave him when he finished plus 2 was : Dont be a doctor but be a biotechnologist . You go for research in that way you will do social good but wont have to face the unnecessary struggles of becoming and being a doctor . (long gestation period is a given but exploitation in particular ) . But he wanted to be a doctor and became a dentist .
Later when he passed and looking for a job i gave him only one advice : practice where you are given at least some amount of respect and avoid southern parts of kerala .
