A first-year DNB anesthesia resident has alleged that she was verbally abused and physically assaulted by her department head inside the operating room at a hospital in Panipat, Haryana. The complaint, which also alleges biohazard exposure involving blood-stained gloves from an HBsAg-positive patient, has prompted physician organizations to call for an independent investigation and immediate action. According to the resident's complaint, the incident occurred on June 22, 2026, after a patient deteriorated during extubation following a modified radical mastectomy.
