A doctor was fined ₹20 lakhs for incorrect administration of anesthesia to a woman who underwent caesarean operation in 2010. According to the complaint, the female during routine check-up was advised by the doctor to get admitted for a cesarean delivery. The doctor administered her with spinal anesthesia at least seven times, which led to paralysis of her lower body. She then gave birth to a boy and was later examined at a private hospital where she underwent three operations on her spinal cord. The doctor there said that her lower body had been affected by the overdose of anesthesia.
This female now holds a disability certificate that says that she is 75 per cent disabled. She is confined to a wheelchair. She paid ₹19,000 for the cesarean operation and her condition today is because of the negligence of the doctor and thus she approached for justice. On investigation it was observed…
