The Delhi Medical Council’s (DMC) disciplinary panel has debarred and recommended removal of names of two doctors from the council’s state medical register. The DMC found these two surgeons guilty of performing a surgery on the wrong foot in a 24-year-old individual. While suspending them for six months of practicing, the disciplinary panel has stated that these two doctors failed to exercise a reasonable degree of skill, knowledge, and care, which is expected of a prudent doctor in the treatment of patients. A 24-year-old man had fractured his right foot after he slipped from a staircase and fell in June last year.
