Surgical Abdomen  (abdominal pain / acute abdomen) can be classified into: 1. Traumatic . 2. Non traumatic. To manage surgical Abdomen first is history in conscious patient to find the type of surgical Abdomen.

In unconscious patient history is not available we have to screen the abdomen alongwith to find the cause of unconsciousness. In conscious patient then comes physical assessment of patient to find out that patient is stable or in shock (hemorrhagic shock / neurogenic shock). First make patient stable / take out from shock/ relive the pain, then should be advised radiological assessment of cause or intervene directally in operation room to secure the bleeding. In surgical Abdomen  assessment, chest & Scrotum / posterior wall of abdomen should be assessed simultaneously .
