The Kerala Clinical Establishment Bill, specifies that the license of a hospital would be cancelled if any medical negligence or error occurs from a doctor. All hospitals including those managed by a single doctor would come under this bill. The medical fraternity has protested this decision. The Kerala Association of Small Hospitals and Clinics has also criticized this move. The Kerala Association state secretary said, “At least those hospitals with less than 20 beds should be excluded.
The move could result in a hike in treatment cost in primary health care.” Do you think Medical Negligence should be linked to hospital license cancellation? How will this decision affect the healthcare sector? Share your opinion! Source: The Economic Times
