I have a 58-year-old male patient. I had done his CABG 9 years back and he was doing well. One week back, he had severe pain in his right leg and he came to us immediately. He was diagnosed with necrotising fasciitis. He underwent 3 debridements under GA by my able General Surgery colleagues. There is no apparent cause for the fasciitis. He has not grown anything in exudate, tissue or blood culture. He is on broad spectrum antibiotics and BD dressing.
The picture is attached with the case. Kindly view it. He is responding but very slowly. The fasciitis was initially spreading rapidly but now has stopped extending further– it is just above knee at present. He is not toxic but does have a low-grade fever. Do you think he will be helped by hyperbaric oxygen? Where is it available in Punjab or Delhi?
