An elderly male patient, a retired soldier was admitted by a physician at around 11 AM with multiple complaints but not directed towards any specific diagnosis. Treating physician advised few investigations to arrive at some conclusion. The patient remains without any treatment/ medicines until evening round of the treating doctor. At this stage, the patient showed his anguish and frustration and conveyed the same to the doctor in a loud and to some extent in a not befitting tenor. Doctor loses his temper and refused to treat any further and directed to discharge him.
Administrator of the hospital was informed who tried to assuage the physician but he didn't relent! Another possibility was to transfer the case to the second physician!
