The state government of Madhya Pradesh has asked doctors in government-run medical colleges to choose between private practice or government hospital to get additional monetary benefits under Ayushman Bharat Scheme. The government doctors will have to choose between two modules: they can continue their private practice after fulfilling medical college duties, or they can exclusively work in the government hospitals by completely suspending their private practice. By working exclusively in a government hospital, they will get an additional 20% incentive for treating patients under the scheme.
In either situation, the government doctors would get benefits of 7 th central pay commission. The Medical Teachers Association of the state cleared that state government does not plan to ban the working of government doctors in the private sector. Source: Economic Times
