A 34-year-old woman was presented with the symptoms such as weakness, chills, and fatigue. She had a fever (102°F) and increased heart rate (107 beats/min). Her complete blood count (CBC) showed white blood cells count of 15,000/mcL. The patient’s blood cultures were positive for Candida krusei . An empiric therapy with IV micafungin 100 mg daily for 5 days was given to the patient. Patient started feeling better after taking daily treatment with 100 mg of IV micafungin.

The physician switched patient to outpatient treatment by advising oral fluconazole for 2 weeks.
