Under Asthma section from the Department of Health, UAE published on April 2018 The prevalence of asthma in children has drastically increased over the last decade. In preschool children, nearly one-third of the population has asthma-related symptoms before the age of six; however, only 40% of children progress into asthma. In high school-aged population, majority of the children present with asthma. To address the emerging concern on the increasing prevalence of asthma in the pediatric group, the present article reviews the guideline designed by the Department of Health-Abu Dhabi for the diagnosis and management of pediatric asthma.
