The nation held pride in welcoming Dr Madhuri Kanitkar, who became the first woman pediatrician to be elevated to the highest rank of Lieutenant General for The Indian Army Doctors. Along with these prestigious ranks, Dr Kanitkar has also been bestowed upon several other titles making her a pioneer in various avenues in the medical field.
