As a new scheme in tuberculosis (TB) eradication, TB patients will get free medicines irrespective of treatment set up from pre-identified private chemists. This initiative is started on small scale in cities like Nagpur and Mehsana. From last 3 years, private chemists were giving free TB medicines to patients.

The cost of these medicines reimbursed by the government to chemists. However, now government will be sending those TB medicines along with cost of distribution and storage. Around 150 shops have now been identified for this scheme.
