Synopsis: Utero placental perfusion should meet the requirements of the developing and growing fetus by providing sufficient nutrients. Inadequate uterine perfusion can result in fetal growth restriction, which is a leading contributor to perinatal mortality and morbidity. Fetal growth restriction complicated 7-15% pregnancies. Doppler ultrasound is the benchmark for accurate pregnancy dating and diagnosis of fetal growth restriction.
Abnormality in doppler indices cannot detect fetal growth restriction.
