In the recent past, there was an ongoing discussion regarding implementation of one-country , one-entrance test for medical courses. The Indian Medical Council Act has been amended to establish a uniformity across the country for conducting medical entrance test. A group of private medical institutions in Maharashtra want to have their own entrance exam for which a plea was forwarded but it has been turned down by the Honourable Supreme Court of India as a verdict.

The Association of Maharashtra’s Private Medical Colleges had put up a plea of conducting its own entrance test for admissions in dental and medical colleges.
