In recent years, the ratio of cesarean sections has increased worldwide far beyond the level of 10–15% which is recommended as optimal by the World Health Organization (WHO). On this World Cesarean Section Awareness Month, I would like to discuss how emergency and elective c-section vary in terms of operating patients, risk factors, complication and post-operative care.
