Dr. Rakesh Kalapala is a Consultant Gastroenterologist from Andhra Pradesh. He heads the Centre for Obesity and metabolic diseases in AEG Hospitals, Hyderabad. Dr. Rakesh was also one of the invited national faculty speakers in the IDEC 2019.
The primary aim of treatment for obese patients is to reduce the obesity per se as well as its complications like the non-alcoholic state of hepatitis, sleep apnea syndrome, osteoarthritis, etc. The comprehensive approach of evaluation is followed for the obese patients apart from educating them with lifestyle modifications.
