Adarsh.E, Sahana G, Sangeetha, Kiran Kumar MS INTRODUCTION : Autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA) is characterized by the production of antibodies directed against red blood cells (RBCs). These antigens initiate RBC destruction via the complement and reticulo-endothelial systems [1]. AIHA follows viral infection or vaccination more often in children than in adults [2]. Immunodeficiency or malignancy (especially malignancies of lymphoreticular tissues), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and other types of collagen vascular diseases are the most common causes of secondary AIHA in children [3].
