Intravenous thrombolysis therapy is the only approved systemic reperfusion treatment for patients with acute ischaemic stroke (AIS). The European Stroke Organisation 2021 guidelines provide evidence-based recommendations to assist physicians in their clinical decisions concerning intravenous thrombolysis for the management of AIS. These guidelines are developed based on the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) methodology.
