NMC/National Medical Commission is a reality now. It has found its way from the cabinet without any debate or dissent! There is a provision for MBBS students to pass the EXIT-exam (as a part of NEET-PG). The students MUST pass the EXIT exam before they step into practice or join PG program....! The MCQ based EXIT exam for MBBS seems to be a ploy of the private/sub-standard medical colleges to legitimize their colleges.

The focus will thus shift on the poor young doctor who will run to a coaching center for the rote learning. An endless agony to pass the exams. A simple MCQ based test cannot assess who is a good or badly trained doctor. The private substandard medical colleges need to impart clinical skills as well and government methods devised in the EXIT exam to assess and quantify those.
