Ladies and gentleman, This is again our story.We work in a place located in the state of Assam.It is a story of a small private hospital. An elderly 60-year female was posted for open cholecystectomy for chronic cholelithiasis. Medical history and clinical examination were unremarkable. The procedure started but when we entered inside the abdomen that looks like Malignancy and surgeons find difficult to dissect and get the plane and there was tremendous adhesion of all surrounding structure and they provisionally concluded/suspected malignancy and decided to abandon the procedure and close the abdomen.
Before that, family members were consulted and we conveyed our decision and told them that the condition is not operable and at least not possible in our setup. They agreed and we closed the abdomen and trachea were extubated and she was doing fine. In the mean time, party spread the news…
